General Information

Who Are You?
We’re Jason and Lisa, the team behind Fraser Valley Rose Farm and Rose Farm Canada. Over the past decade, we’ve grown exceptional roses and perennials from our small farm on Nicomen Island in British Columbia. While Fraser Valley Rose Farm serves the local community, Rose Farm Canada focuses on shipping plants across Canada.
Jason also runs a YouTube channel with gardening tips and often speaks at local garden clubs, sharing his passion for roses and gardening.

How Do I Place an Order?
Shopping is easy! Browse the online store, add items to your cart, and complete checkout using our secure payment system. Once your order is processed, you’ll receive a confirmation email and updates when your order ships.

Shipping and Delivery

How Are Plants Packaged for Shipping?
Plants are shipped in 9cm pots with soil intact, carefully secured to prevent shifting or damage during transit. Roses are defoliated before shipping to reduce stress and avoid issues like yellowing leaves or aphids.

How Much Does Shipping Cost?
Shipping is a flat rate of $30 per box, with up to 6 plants per box. This helps keep costs predictable and maximizes value for our customers.

When Do You Ship Plants?
We ship plants seasonally, starting in March, with the season running until late October. Timing varies by region to ensure plants are ready for your climate. For plants ordered in Feb/Mar here are the default dates:

March: Lower Mainland BC, Vancouver Island April 1–15: Southern ON, Southern QC, BC Interior April 16–30: The Prairies (AB, SK, MB), Northern ON, Northern QC, Maritimes May 1–15: Northern BC, Yukon, NWT, Nunavut

You can request a later shipping window (up until early May) in the order notes. Beginning in May orders typically ship within a week of purchase, and we’ll email tracking details once they’re on the way.

Will you ship to the US?
Unfortunately, we don’t ship plants to the United States due to import restrictions. However, we’re excited to recommend our trusted partner, High Country Roses, a US-based nursery offering a fantastic selection of roses.

As a special perk for our visitors, High Country Roses has generously provided an exclusive coupon code for you. Use rosefarm at checkout to save 20% on your order!

Can I Pick Up My Order at the Farm Instead of Paying for Shipping?
Yes! Local customers who prefer to pick up their order at the farm can use the coupon code pickuponfarm at checkout to waive shipping fees. Please note that pickup will be available on scheduled open days only, and we ask that you pick up your order on the next available weekend.

I didn’t fill my Canada Post shipping box. Can I add more plants to my order?
Yes! If you placed an order but didn’t fill your 6-plant shipping box, you can place an additional order and use the coupon code combineshipping to avoid duplicate shipping charges. However, our system does not automatically track how many spaces remain in your original order, so it is your responsibility to ensure you are adding the correct number of plants to fill your box.

Will you be restocking sold-out roses?
Possibly. Our inventory was listed based on plant condition before winter, and we’ve set aside a margin for potential losses. As the season progresses, we’ll add more plants as they become ready, but availability will depend on how they perform. If a variety you’re interested in is sold out, we recommend using the “Email When Stock Available” feature on the product page to receive a notification when it’s back in stock.

What Should I Do When My Plants Arrive?
Bring your plants out of the box and into the fresh air as soon as possible. Check if they need water, and follow the included care instructions to help them settle in. If you have any concerns about their condition, contact us promptly.

Plant Care

Why Are the Leaves Stripped from My Plants?
We defoliate roses before shipping to ensure they arrive in good condition. Foliage can yellow or rot in transit, and removing it helps the plants focus on establishing after arrival. This also helps prevent aphids from hitching a ride. Rest assured, this doesn’t harm the plants and allows them to grow fresh, healthy foliage in your care.

Do You Use Pesticides?
We use minimal spraying to maintain plant health. When needed, we use sulfur, potassium bicarbonate and insecticidal soap, avoiding harsh chemicals to keep our plants safe for you and the environment.

How do your roses compare with traditional field-grown bare root roses?
Our roses are grown in tall 9cm pots, making them compact and easy to ship. While they’re smaller than the traditional field-grown bare root roses you might find at local garden centers, they’re grown on their own roots rather than being grafted onto a rootstock.

This means they’ll take some extra time and care to size up in the garden, but the long-term benefits are worth it. Own-root roses are generally longer-lived, more resilient, and will never produce unwanted rootstock suckers. With a little patience, they’ll establish beautifully and grow into strong, healthy plants.

Returns and Refunds

What Is Your Return Policy?
All plants are guaranteed to be healthy and true to name when they arrive. If you encounter any issues, contact us within 14 days with photos, and we’ll process a refund for the affected items. Non-plant items follow the same process. For full details, see our Return Policy.

Can I Get a Replacement?
Refunds are provided instead of replacements, but you’re welcome to use your refund toward a new order.

Product Availability

Do You Offer Pre-Orders?
We don’t offer pre-orders. Plants are first listed once we’ve confirmed they’ve made it safely through winter. We also continue to add roses and perennials through the shipping season as they become ready. Check back often for updates!

Why Don’t I See Certain Plants?
We only list plants currently available for purchase. If a plant isn’t listed, it’s either sold out or not ready for sale yet.

Privacy and Security

How Is My Information Protected?
Your privacy is important to us. We use secure payment systems to process your orders and don’t store your payment details. Your email address is only used for order updates and newsletters if you’ve signed up. For more, see our Privacy Policy.
